TRENDS FOR SS18

It’s February and – despite the latest snow flurries – spring is surely just round the corner.  And what better way to herald a new season than by updating the décor at home.  Looks for 2018 range from the fresh and exotic to the bold and eclectic to the dark and desirable, so there is bound to be something to appeal to you.

Fresh and exotic

Blush pink against a lush, verdant green backdrop is a key trend this season.  Contrasting the subtlety of rose quartz against deep viridescent tones instantly creates freshness and vitality.  Imagine a stargazer lily or orchid peeping out from its foliage and you’ll understand why these colours are such an alluring combination.  Introduce green into your home with the Tulip Chair in Mint Velvet and accessorise with the Farha Dusky Blush Embroidered Cushion.  This combination of pink and green is enhanced by metallic accents, so complement them with the Pippard Champagne Console Table with its mirrored glass surface and golden frame.  The beautiful and practical Milano Cocktail Cabinet is another way to enhance this look.

Bold and eclectic

World Traveller is another trend this season and brings together eclectic pieces inspired by far-flung places.  The Boho Boutique Large Sideboard and the coordinating Boho Boutique Coffee Table with their black charcoal finishes will bring a flavour of Eastern promise to your home, while placing the Framed Nelly Embroidered Art on your wall or the Nakur Block Printed Cushions on your sofa are instant ways to bring the exotic to your part of the world.  Armchair travel has never been so appealing!

Dark and desirable

Pantone, the colour specialists, have named Ultra Violet their colour for 2018. This vibrant and visionary shade would be a gorgeous backdrop for the Bronte one drawer Console Table or the Bronte three door two drawer Sideboard. Choose the taupe colourway for a more sophisticated take on this season’s coastal trend, or the moodiness of ‘storm’ to capture the continuing desire for dark and inviting spaces. The comfortable and sophisticated Humber Dark Grey Linen Sofa would work especially well with this trend for dark colours, and once again, metallic accents combine beautifully with such hues, so accessorise with the Verna Bronze Drinks Trolley and the Bradbury Mirror in Antique Gold. Our love affair with metallic accents looks set to continue.

Whichever trend most appeals to you, Style Our Home can make it a reality. Let us put a spring in your step!
