So says Prospero, the exiled Duke and sorcerer, in William Shakespeare's The Tempest, a play about revenge and redemption – with a heavy dose of magic thrown in for good measure. And the Bard certainly knew what he was talking about. Without a good night's sleep, how can we function - let alone perform that daily magic trick of juggling everything in our busy lives?

We've probably all experienced the frustration of a restless night: we feel lethargic, exhausted and irritable the next day. A good night's sleep, on the other hand, can leave us feeling refreshed and renewed, ready to face any tempests tossed our way. In fact, experts say that a sound night's sleep doesn't just boost our mood, but it is also good for our physical and mental health and well-being.

So, how can we improve our sleep? Health professionals suggest we need to establish good sleep routines, keep our bedrooms free from gadgets and screens, and keep noise and light to a minimum. But I think we'd all also agree on the importance of what we sleep in.  We supposedly spend 25 years of our lives asleep, so it's wise to make sure you've got a comfortable and supportive bed. Millbrook Beds are experts in this area, making beautiful handcrafted beds with the highest quality materials. Gorgeous to look at, these beds are designed to lull you into a magical night’s sleep – without resorting to sorcery! Instead, luxurious fabrics and hand-nested pocket springs soothe and support the body.  Who knows, maybe if he had had a Millbrook Bed, Hamlet - another of Shakespeare’s protagonists - wouldn’t have exclaimed, ‘I have bad dreams’...

As Shakespeare said, all the world is a stage - so prepare for it by getting a good night’s sleep.  We are all more able to cope with the many roles we have to play in life if we are well rested. Millbrook can help to diminish that drama.

Sweet dreams.
